Phoenix "It's Never Like That" is the result of a sincere step, something thoughtful and alive. Here is the masterpiece that France's Phoenix have always threatened to make. And my god is it not just the perfect soundtrack for summer.
Comedians of Comedy "How old do you think a highway has to be before you can tell it its been adopted?" Yes, it's that funny. Movie on Netfilx and TV show on Comedy Central. Comedians of Comedy is ten times more interesting than reality shows. There's no jumping through hoops of fire or pits of snakes. This is real life stuff and that's what makes it exciting. Even the boring is more interesting.
Battle of the Record Covers Ok, thanks to our friend Rob @ Ten-Stories for sending this to us. It's an incredible motion graphics piece of some of the best (and worst) record covers ever made. Go on, click and witness some pure comedy and nostalgia.
Vmix The social networking revolution is amongst us. Friendster just got a ten-million round of funding, NewsCorp's MySpace is doing deals with Viacom, and Google has teamed up with YouTube. Now there's VMix. They're a San Diego company that we like to think is doing it right. Check out the videos we've uploaded and become our friend here.
ArtOpp ArtOpp is exactly that, a site that creates opportunities for artists. It was conceived by the fine folks at Ninthlink and we like to think they're on to something here. Give back to the community by supporting emerging artists and aid in their success.
The Long Tail It's not about blockbuster movies and overhyped media blitz. Finally, someone sets the mainstream straight. Chris Anderson is that man and The Long Tail is his theory. Read on...
Revver Social networking sites are becoming more popular than eating breakfast. YouTube has over 100 million users and MySpace, Yahoo!, Google and a handful of others aren't far behind. Well, now there's one company that wants to play in the big leagues and even prepared to pay you for content. Revver is their name and while they're not even a month old, the buzz is catching on. And lucky for them, their business model allows them to double-dip in advertising dollars. The only catch (and you have to be pretty clever to notice) is the user only gets paid when someone views AND clicks on the ad. It's a win win model for Revver and advertisers. The big question still remains, which big-league slugger is going to step up and allow us to join in on "all" the ad revenue?

The Showbiz Show w/ David Spade Nobody makes fun of celebrities better than David Spade. His weekly gig at Comedy Central is a platform that Spade and his talented team of writers use to trash just about everyone in overhyped Hollywood. One view of his video clips on Robin Williams or Vin Diesel promoting their new movies and you'll be obsessed like we are.
Josh Rouse Rare is it for artists just hitting their stride to take an entire song to ask themselves why they're doing it in the first place. This is how Josh Rouse opens his new album, "Subtitulo" and we're quickly sucked in to the breezy, whistling answers of his departure from Nashville, Tennessee and emerging new roots in the small Spanish community of Altea. The result is a 10-song paradigmatic, indie-folk release from a songwriter who has on more than one occasion stirred the soul of listeners with profound lyrical prose, unique instrumentation and romantic attention to detail. This is the kind of stuff that is simple and complicated, which for a music-junkie like me, is awe inspiring to listen to. "Quiet Town" is so captivating, I've played it over the phone for a few friends. Read More

iTunes Commercial You Haven't Seen Here's an iTunes commercial produced on speck by filmmaker Marc Debruyne. It features Bright Eyes and I'm really hoping Apple replaces Eminem with something more along these lines. Click here to view.
Black People Love Us By far, one of the funniest websites ever made. Click to witness for yourself.
My Morning Jacket "Z" is the latest offering from the bar-driven boys of Louisville, Kentucky. It's nostalgic, simplistic, rough, catchy, upbeat, sad, and rhythmically charged, all blended into ten beautifully crafted songs. Download "Off The Record" right now and you'll know what I'm talking about. More...
All The Real Girls This is about as honest of a film I've ever seen on relationships. David Gordon Green captures the art and beauty of emotions like no other. It will either leave you smiling or in tears. And trust me, it's a sort of drained feeling that is worth every penny in owning this beautifully shot and delivered love lullaby. Read more
Charizma Here is a kid who grew up with three primary concerns - hip hop music, sweets, and apple juice. By sweets, I don't mean the kind that you buy at the 7-11. And the apple juice, only Martinelli's uncarbonated. With Peanut Butter Wolf on the one's and two's, Charizma's "Big Shots" CD is as real as it gets. Hear more
Stars "Set Yourself On Fire", the third full-length from Montreal's STARS is how it feels when thinking your life is on track, and when the floorboards collapse under your feet, giving in to the chaos instead of fighting it, starting over again more brilliant and gorgeous and raw than you've ever been before. ItÃÂs knowing you have to decimate your own history in order to understand it. The band claims they were aiming for a straight-up sex record, but ended up writing a sex and death and robots record ÃÂ in Stars, everything that starts off simple blows up big, ornate and rich. I Heart Huckabees Ready to explore what the trule mortality of life is? Give it a head-spinning whirl with I Heart Huckabees. Absolutely mind-blowing. For some reason, I want to say Waking Life and The Matrix dialogue blended together but with more artistic vision. See More
Ed Harcourt "Loneliness, what would I do without you?" Ed Harcourt asks against dreamy backing vocals, twinkling pianos and all sorts of space-age sound effects on his latest album, "Strangers". The answer, of course, is we haven't heard anyone able to make music as heartbreaking as this. "Born in the 1970s" and "Something To Live For" haven't left the iMix. Hear more!

New Buffalo Straight from Melbourne, Australia, The Last Beautiful Day is quite unlike anything else you will hear this year. Tegan & Sara When was the last time you were completely rocked by twin sisters from Canada? I saw Tegan & Sara at South By Soutwest and became numb. Their new disc, "So Jealous" is angst-ridden, heartfelt songs with a sharp edge. And that's just how I like it. Hear More
